Forum 2015

Tuesday June 9th

PEPAYS Ireland was initiated in the 2005 academic year with the initial research forum held at the University of Limerick in June 2006.The research forum intended to and continues to provide an environment to discuss opportunities and challenges associated with researching physical education, physical activity, and sport experiences for children, youth, and adults in an Irish context. The forum offers a structure whereby those conducting research will have an opportunity to seek input on research design and instrumentation, share research questions and findings of research projects, and create a network of colleagues for potential future collaboration on research projects.  The PEPAYS Ireland Research Forum was the first gathering of teachers, policy makers, and researchers with interests in research questions around young people and the Irish community’s involvement in sport, physical education, and physical activity. In 2011, the PEPAYS Ireland Research Forum was held in conjunction with the International Association of Physical Education in Higher Education (AIESEP) at the University of Limerick, in 2013 at Dublin City University and in 2014 at the Institute of Technology in Waterford. After successful conferences held around the country the PEPAYS Research Forum returns to Limerick to mark its tenth anniversary.

Keynote Speakers for the one-day event are Prof Stewart Trost and David Passmore
